Stepney Green

Tower Hamlets | Ref 33242

Stepney Green is a single file atmospheric cobbled road that runs alongside Stepney Green Gardens.

Approx 350m in length it provides a great controllable road that can double as a period location easily with black wrought iron railings of Stepney Green Gardens one side and the period properties the other - a rich mix of late 17th, 19th and early 20th buildings.

The oldest house in Stepney Green is no.37, built in 1694 and it’s an outstanding survivor.

Stepney Green Court is situated at the south end of the street and part of the Industrial Dwellings Society established in 1885. The block was (and still is) largely made up of one and two bedroom flats, with 115 flats in total. Beautiful properties with period details.
