Crossfields Estate

Lewisham | Ref 32918

The Crossfields Estate is an early post social housing estate in Deptford. It was constructed in the late 1940s and, when completed, consisted of 12 blocks, two of which have since been demolished.

There are several playgrounds scattered throughout the estate as well as a large grassy area & basketball court.

Fun fact: Members of rock groups Squeeze and Dire Straits lived on the Crossfields Estate in Deptford in the late 1970s and Dire Straights had their first gig in Farrer House on the estate in 1977!
